Where does the name Hubble come from?

This is the most popular question, Hubble’s name comes from the Hubble telescope, which looks at and studies space. Hubble is not connected to the telescope but I gave him that name as Hubble is looking at the bigger in picture in life, trying to bridge gaps and work with all.

How much notice do you need for a booking?

I always say book as soon as you have a date in mind, if you book a tentative date it is better than being disapppointed by not booking.

Do you have a price list available?

As much of the work is created specifically for the client it is not possible to offer a price until the client’s requirements are known, therefore we are unable to produce a price list.We aim to cater for all groups and price accordingly. We do not want anyopne to miss out on our shows.. The only fixed pricing is for after school clubs and one day puppet workshops.

Are you CRB checked and do you have public liability insurance?

Yes we do, all volunteers of the Enterprise are CRB checked and Hubble has insurance for all it’s work.

How long do you need to set up?

Normally it takes half to three quaters of an hour to set up, if we are outside and putting up a marquee then hour and half is best.

Why do you do what you do?

Puppets offers a way for the operator to be once removed and, therefore, I believe puppets to be a powerful tool to help young people and adults to gain a skill and develop confidence and freedom of voice. All who work with Hubble also learn to be a part of a team, learen to mentor other team members and interact with the wider comminty. I believe that we are living in such a fast lane of life that we have forgotten how to be with one another and speak and engage as we use to. Young people with Hubble get to engage young to older generation, have fun, be part of a team. Other groups learn a new skill and gain confidence and perform to an audience, to some this would be an impossible task without a puppet and therefore very rewarding to the individuals involved. In other areas of our community there appears to be a gap in services that are offered, Hubble hopes to operate in a place where we can help bridge a gap and offer some help.
