Hubble runs a number of after school clubs during the week in and around Camberley and Eversley, we have the capacity to run more, please contact Sam for more information.
The after school clubs are for ages 7 – 16 years of age, young people come along to learn, how to use a puppet, to work as a team, deliver a performance to the whole school and/or the wider community.
These clubs are excellent for young people with low confidence/self esteem as puppetry enables the user to be once removed as the puppet is on show not the individual. This is a great opportunity for them to be themselves, find their voice and deliver it through the puppet.
The clubs are open to all, within the age range, at that school, they are delivered on a first come, first serve basis. We currently operate at Charles Kingsleys in Eversley, Hammond Junior Comunity School, Lightwater. The Grove Primary School, Frimley.
On Mondays we run a club at Kings International College, Watchetts Drive, Camberley, Surrey between 3.30 pm – 4.45pm. This club is open to all, and not restricted to Kings International Students. We currently have openings for this club. Through the Monday Club we offer ongoing puppet practice and use this club to practise for forth coming events and performances that we would like to put in in the future.
Hubble runs one day puppet workshops across Surrey and Hampshire, this is puppets for a class during the school day. We come in before the start of the day, during the day the young people will learn basic puppet skills, do art and craft theme related to the day, play games to aid the puppet skill and enhance team work. Later the class will perform to the whole school and recieve a certificate.
This is a fun packed day for young people and especially popular with infant schools.
Please contact the Enterprise for Cost and bookings.
Hubble loves to go out into the community and perform at special events; We can be booked for Shows, parties, Fetes and Fairs.
If you are running a particular theme Hubble can accomadate that with music and dress.
Hubble and his team of puppets is very popular at these events.
Hubble can aslo be booked for special groups. We cater to the needs of the group i.e. young people with special needs and disabilities, people who suffer from mental health difficulties either young people and/or adults. One to one work or group work over a number of weeks. Hubble and his owner Sam are experienced in areas of need and love to help all of those who can benefit from this type of work. Puppets are a great mechanism for expressing, sharing, finding a voice and confidence building.
Child and vunerable adult protection comes high in the ethos of The Hubble Community Enterpirse, we believe that every person is unique and deserves the very best time and attention. We aim to include ALL from whatever background or culture. We follow a belief that no-one is less or more than another individual and that we are all equal and special, Hubble hopes that everyone we work with gains understanding and feels that.
During the summer holidays, Hubble offers holiday clubs. These run for 5 days and are normally hosted and funded by the school and community. Young people age 5 – 11yrs enjoy a fun packed week with Hubble and the team. Art and craft, puppets, sport and games are all part of this week. We operate a theme for the week for example, looking out for one another in community. At one holiday club we based it on the Heffalump movie and turned the school grounds into 100 acre wood. Each day the young paople would watch a part of the movie and do craft related to the film. In the film the 100 acre wood characters are afraid to go over the fence to the wood, and the elephants are afraid to come over the fence as they are all afraid of each other. Our message was not to judge people because you don’t know them. Amongst other things we made fishing nets and the young people had fun capturing bubbles and watching them burst as they hit their nets.
Holiday clubs are great fun for all involved. We advertise for volunteers thorough voluntary services and this is a great opportunity for college/ university students and job seekers to get involved and experience young people across the comminity. All volunteers have really enjoyed this time and the young people love it too.
For everything mentioned above or any work that you think Hubble can help with please contact Sam by email or telephone as detailed on the home page.
